چکیده

This paper investigates a low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite downlink for high-speed data communication in interference situations. A choke ring horn type antenna is used as the transmitting with an isoflux pattern LEO satellite, which has beam coverage of ±51.6° and bore-sight gain 4.4 dBi at 8 GHz. The receiving on ground station parabolic diameter 11.3 m, it half-power width (HPBW) 0.2° maximum 59 jamming-to-signal ratio (J/S) calculated assuming that transmits signals to station, elevation angle source varies from 0° 90° altitude 10 km. Applying characteristics, such HPBWs side lobes, space wave path loss makes possible predict J/S results according location satellite. show necessary consider environment accurately analyze downlink, especially low

Successive interference cancellation in a low-earth orbit satellite system

Successive interference cancellation is a promising technique for increasing the capacity of uplink CDMA channels. In this paper, the technique is extended to a low-earth orbit satellite channel. Unlike terrestrial cellular channels, satellite channels typically have a limited multipath profile, but significant closed-loop power control error due to the round-trip delay incurred in communicatin...

Space Radiation Effects on Electronic Components in Low-earth Orbit

Space Radiation Environment, Essential Basics: Radiation in Space is generated by particles emitted from a variety of sources both within and beyond our solar system. Radiation effects from these particles can not only cause degradation, but can also cause failure of the electronic and electrical systems in space vehicles or satellites. Even high altitude commercial airliners flying polar route...

Passive Aerodynamic Stabilization of a Low Earth Orbit Satellite

This paper discusses the influence of aerodynamic drag torque on the dynamics of a satellite in a very low altitude orbit. The larger atmospheric density in low altitude earth orbits results in significant aerodynamic drag torques acting on the satellite. With a conventional satellite design this may result in instability. This paper shows how the instability can be avoided, and how the aerodyn...

Staged Deployment of Communications Satellite Constellations in Low Earth Orbit

The “traditional” way of designing constellations of communications satellites in low Earth orbit is to optimize the design for a specified global capacity. This approach is based on a forecast of the expected number of users and their activity level, both of which are highly uncertain. This can lead to economic failure if the actual demand is significantly smaller than the one predicted. This ...

A Modular Small Satellite Bus for Low Earth Orbit Missions

The paper describes how the design philosophy used on the UoSAT spacecraft has been advanced to produce a bus providing basic power conditioning, telecommand, telemetry and attitude control functions. This basic bus is sufficient to support a variety of payloads, but the architecture is such that bus may be expanded (for example in number of telecommands) to support more demanding payloads. The...
